You have gathered titles from the catalog and full-text articles from online databases. You've found Web pages that seem objective, knowledgeable, and well-maintained so you believe the information is current and accurate.

BUT there is that one article that you found in the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals and the Library doesn't own the journal. Or your professor suggested a book and the Library doesn't own it. It's time to learn about Interlibrary Loan.

Interlibrary Loan may be the best kept secret of libraries. It opens nearly every library's collection to you. Libraries are always willing to loan titles to one another. To use interlibrary loan at the University of Arizona, you will need to have your CatCard with you. Get as much information as you can find: if it is a book you want, you'll need at least the title, author, publication date and volume number if there is more than one volume; if it's an article, you'll need at least the title and author of the article, the title of the journal, the issue of the journal in which the article appeared. Go to the Interlibrary Loan link from the SABIO Gateway or directly to the Interlibrary Loan page, fill in your CatCard Number and you are ready to get started.

Resources offers information about where to look for specific resources, and Images offers links for finding images. Of course, you can always review the previous pages: Choosing Your Topic, Materials, Where Do I Look, or Searching.
