The purpose of the Mountain-Plains Chapter of the Music Library Association (MPMLA) is to encourage communication and cooperation among libraries and individuals who are interested in music and libraries.  The Chapter currently represents thirteen states--Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming--and the Canadian province of Alberta.
