Indexes

On-Line
Note: Users must access On-Line Databases from a University of Arizona terminal

Biosis Previews
Encompasses the entire field of life sciences and covers original research reports and reviews in biological and biomedical areas. Nearly 7000 serials are monitored for inclusion as well as notes and letters, technical data, reports, review articles, translation journals, meeting reports, bibliographies, nomenclature rules and taxonomic keys. (1992-present)

Biological Abstracts
A sub-set of BIOSIS Previews, this database monitors more than 6,500 serials and covers mostly journal articles, technical notes and letters.

CARL Uncover
Provides access to current article information from more than 17,000 multi-disciplinary journals. It contains brief descriptive information of about 7 million articles which have appeared since 1988 and allows users to input their credit card numbers for speedy delivery of articles directly from this company.

Current Contents
Accesses the tables of contents of current issues of approximately 6500 journals in the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities.

CD-ROM LAN and Other Access
Note: Users can access CD-ROM LAN databases from selected computers in the University of Arizona Science-Engineering Library and Main Library reference rooms.

AGRICOLA
Covers the international journal literature and monographs on agriculture and related subjects. (1970-present). CD-ROM LAN.

AGRIS
Indexes articles, books, conference papers & proceedings, scientific & technical reports, and theses which cover all aspects of agriculture. Produced by the FAO. (1991-1993). Single Station in the Science-Engineering Library.

AGRISEARCH
Provides access to agricultural research projects in the U.S. and Canada (CRIS/ICAR), Australia (ARRIP), Africa (SPAAR/SIS), and European countries (AGREP). (1996) Single Station in the Science-Engineering Library.

CAB Abstracts
Provides worldwide coverage of agriculture and related areas of applied biology, sociology, economics, and human and environmental health. Abstracts included for over 95% of records. (1984-present).

Science Citation Index
(SCI) indexes articles in over 3,300 of the world's most significant scientific and technical journals. SCI allows you to search by a cited author or a cited paper. Cited reference searching enables you to search forward in time -- to take a known, relevant paper and uncover other, later papers that cite it. There are two separate databases, 1990-1993 and 1994 -- Present. CD-ROM LAN.
