transliteration practice

Below are several roll-over images that give the original citation in Cyrillic, which rolls over to reveal:

  1. The orignal Cyrillic
  2. The Library of Congress system without diacritics
  3. The international scholarly system (which differs from ISO R9 only in its representation of the Cyrillic "x" with "kh" instead of "x")
  4. The LC system with diacritics

LC without diacritics is the most commonly used system among Russian scholars in the US, though many in linguistics prefer the more precise international scholarly system (or ISO R9), though it requires the use of additional diacritics.
