Why Chronologies?
The ability to place events in an historical, social or cultural context is a key skill for any Slavic Scholar. The list of websites below and the additional resources on this site aim to provide the scholar with basic information from which to formulate that context. These sites should serve only as a starting point for such work. For more in-depth contextual research, peruse the Chronologies Bibliography section, or contact your local Slavic Librarian (for contact information on Slavic Librarians around the country, try the 2003 International Directory of Librarians & Library Specialists in the Slavic & East European Field ).

Historical Chronologies
- Chronologies of Russian History - A tremendous site, created and updated by Robert Beard at Bucknell University. Contains links to several dozen chronologies and historical sites.
- Chronology of Russian History - Also from Robert Beard's site. This is such a fine page, however, it deserves it's own link and annotation.
