Customer Statement
Integrative Services Teams (IS), Library Support Services Team, and other library staff are our internal customers.
University of Arizona staff, students, and faculty; Arizona community members; and visiting researchers are our core external customers.
Other libraries are our secondary external customers. The Association of Research Libraries (ARL) is an external customer for our statistics.
We are split up into 2 sub-work teams within TST.
TSAP members also work on Cross-Functional,& Project teams.
You can also view our TST Work Expectations.
WORKTEAMS:
Acquisitions, Metadata, Physical Processing, Electronic Services Team:
This team effectively performs & provides all services related to acquiring and providing physical & electronic access to all formats the library acquires for our customers. We provide effective management of this media, as well as maintenance of our database & holdings. Our main focus is to provide our customers with effective, accurate and timely access to the Library’s holdings.
(Click here to see AMPES Team Glossary for work details).
Cataloging, Archival Processing, Receiving and Metadata Team:
This work team in TST completes the receiving processes for print and non-print materials received directly and from outsourcing vendors. Staff complete original & copy cataloging, create order, check-in and circulation records and prepare materials for delivery to Physical Processing. We prepare and send claims to vendors for missing journals and serials, add holdings statements for journals and serials and process the various problems associated with the receiving processes. They are also responsible for accurate and complete access to information in all formats that the Library owns, leases, or has rights to use through consortial or other agreements. The members of the team provide access for all customers performing research by creating metadata for information resources in special formats such as media, maps, East Asian languages, Special Collections and archives. The team works with vendors and manages contracted work, including cataloging, authority, and related work. Team members coordinate special and ongoing activities including, but not limited to the withdrawal of materials that are deselected, shipments of volumes needed by the Center for Research Libraries, and cataloging unique collections.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL TEAM:
Leadership Group CFT:
This group coordinates and plans the development of the TST strategic framework each year and analyzes future direction. We bring awareness to TST regarding library-wide and external issues and trends related to TST. We also maintain and ensure inter-team communication, and support the development of skills within TST that are needed for staff to be successful. We oversee and monitor the continuing process improvement process and make decisions about technical services responsibilities. We serve as the Management Review Team for TST CFT's and Projects. The Archival Processing work team has come close to wrapping up the processing of the Vaudeville Collection. The separate handwritten inventories have been input and consolidated into a single draft finding aid. The current draft of this (still being updated) is attached.
All that remains to finalize are:

- the Paul Gerard Smith collection of programs (in process)
- miscellaneous press materials and other printed matter (will be done this week)
- miscellaneous items still in Special Collections (large Mae West photo, wigs / props, violin)
Manuscript Collection:

- Goelet Family Papers
- Leo Goldschmidt Coll.
- Robert Humphrey Coll.
- Gene Magee Coll.
Mono Collection:

Participants in archival processing to date have been Edna Galvez, Helen Quihuis, Georgean Sabarese, and Michele Saunders. We look forward to the arrival of Chrystal Carpenter Burke, the new processing archivist, next week! As soon as she has settled in a bit we will introduce ourselves as a group, and update her on the status of the Vaudeville Collection and review remaining issues or questions about its organization, description, and storage with her.
