Status Codes
Status Codes and Description of this Status
| (-) In Library | This item should be on the shelf. If it is not found on the shelf request it from Circulation desk (621-3430) or report as Missing. |
| (d) Lost, Searched | See Lost, below. |
| (m) Missing | Not checked out, but not on the shelf either. We are waiting a bit to see if it turns up before we withdraw it or reorder it. |
| (o) Lib use only | Means that this is a Reference book and can not be checked out. |
| (t) In Transit | In Transit from anoter U of A library. If an item is returned to a location other than where it is housed (e.g. a Science book is returned to Main Library), the status of the item is changed to In Transit until it is transferred and checked in. |
| (z) Clms Retd | "Claims Returned" The person who checked it out says they returned it, but it was never checked in and we can't find it. We will try to reorder it if its in print. You can also ask us to get it for you on Interlibrary Loan. |
| ($) Lost + Paid | A customer has lost this item, but has been billed and has paid all fees associated with it. |
| (P) At info desk | We have this item at the Reference or Circulation desk. Ask a Librarian for assistance to get it for you. |
| (i) ILL Request | There is no cost to the customer for ILL materials - the UA Library pays all costs associated with obtaining books and articles. Also, we do not limit the number of requests a customer can submit. If a UA book is in use or recalled from a customer, we will do an interlibrary loan on that book ONLY if it is available at Arizona State or Northern Arizona State. |
| (l) Lost | Means this item has been identified as never been returned or has been stolen. An item with a staatus of Lost will not be reordered automatically. Customers may recommend a Lost item be reordered by contacting the relevantg subject specialist or through request for purchase by contacting http://intranet.library.arizona.edu/teams/tsap/form_orderOther.html |
| (n) Billed | Means that a customer hasn't returned it, but has been billed for the item's replacement cost. |
| (s) On search | The item has been identified by a customer or a staff person as Missing and is currently been searched for 3 times before itgs status is changed to Lost. This generally takes 5-8 weeks. |
| (w) Withdrawn | The item has been Withdrawn from the collection and is no longer available for checkout status. Withdrawn will have their records removed/masked from the online catalog and status changed to Withdrawn. |
| (;) Damaged | The item has been damaged and has been removed from the shelf. Damaged items are reviewed once a month by subject selectors (librarians) and are either replaced or withdrawn. Damaged items may be requested by U of A faculty, staff or students through Interlibrary Loan. |
| (!) On Holdshelf | The item is on hold for a customer wo has requested it or has recalled it from another user. The hold shelf is behind the Circulation Desk. |
| (A) Do not use | Means that we are not using this status code. It has no label. There should not be any records in the system with that designation because we don't use that code. |
