Recruitment, Selection and Hiring

In this section, HROE explains the procedures and guidelines for identifying and selecting new employees.  The process starts with a position vacancy and ends with an employee reporting to work.  Recruitment means to engage and enlist potential candidates to apply for open positions.  Recruitment involves knowledge of where there is a fresh supply of individuals—networking with groups, organizations or individuals.  Selection is the process of making a choice for the best candidate to fill a position.  Candidates are screened against agreed upon criteria and values.  State and federal laws require fair and legally defensible procedures, so policies, guidelines, steps and forms are provided.  It is HROE’s aim to provide samples and flowcharts –stay posted as these become available.
