How Do I Identify Relevant Databases?
This list of tips will help guide you to relevant databases, explain how to get info about databases, look at help, coverage, etc.:
1. Look at the Subject Guides
- Once you select your subject guide, click “Finding Articles” to get to a list of recommended databases.
2. Look at the Recommended Databases in your Subject Area:
- Once you go to the Article and Database Searching page, click the dropdown arrow next to the “Find Databases in your SUBJECT area” box.

3. If your Topic is Interdisciplinary:
- Web of Knowledge - Index to articles in core publications through 3 databases: science, social sciences and arts and humanities.
- JSTOR - An online archive of the complete digitized volumes of core scholarly journals in all subject areas up to the latest five years.
- ProQuest Dissertations and Thesis Full Text - Index of all doctoral dissertations and some master's theses from most North American and many European colleges and universities from 1861 to present.
- Central Search - A multisearch interface to articles and books across many UA Library licensed article databases and the UA library catalog.
- Recommended interdisciplinary databases from the 'Find Databases by Subject' menu. Select the category: "Multidisicplinary".
