Information Security Project
The security project is a team project led by Jackie Dee that helps provide stable, secure, and reliable access to the Library’s information resources. The goal of this project is to ensure the Library is compliant with the University’s Information Security Policy. The project will also provide a greater awareness of information security and its importance. Please check back often for updates.
Project Updates
Changed generic group password for Millennium in III. This new password will be changed annually.
Implemented automated lockout procedure for all Library staff and student accounts so that after 10 minutes of inactivity their computer is locked.
Installed WSUS to provide a redundant way to ensure all Library staff/student desktops are updated by Microsoft each month.
Completed ABOR UA Critical Systems Survey with Risk Assessment.
Working with teams to ensure students that handle data on the team share drives have individual accounts.

The National Cyber Security Alliance - The NSCA is a not-for-profit organization which provides information security awareness information for, the home user, small business, and education. This site has excellent information on general information security.
OnGuard Online - Onguard Online provides security tips from the federal government and the technology industry.
