Office 2007 Migration
Milestones:
Sept 26, 2007 - March 5, 2008: UST held six training sessions for staff. They are planning the last session on April 15.
Oct 8 - Dec 30, 2007: XWING tested the deployment and established liaisons for each team.
mid-December 2007 - March 2008: XWING swapped out 58 older staff computers with faster machines pre-installed with Office 2007.
March 5-26, 2008- XWING remotely deployed Office 2007 to 104 qualified computers based by teams and location. Qualified computers are defined as computers fast enough to handle the software. White E-3600 Gateway computers do not qualify.
April - June 2008 - XWING continues to upgrade remaining older staff computers with faster machines pre-installed with Office 2007.
FYI: New and trickle-down staff computers have Office 2007 pre-installed. Since Project 2007 and Visio 2007 are keyserved software, they will NOT be included with Office 2007 deployment. Training

Cool IT Room - Main A518. Two computers in that room are available for all staff to use anytime the 5th floor is opened. They have Office 2007. This is currently the only place to "test drive" Outlook 2007. The IC and branch public computers have all the Office 2007 software except Outlook.
